Why PTSD + PCOS = A.R.T.

Artistic Release of Tension

Oh WordPress, how busy have I been, let me count the ways:

College courses (enough said)

Work

Life

and lastly, art.

I have been M.I.A. from both of my blogs for two months now, and it hardly seems like it has been that long. Before the summer semester started, I was getting to post about twice a week on both blogs. I now have a second love besides blogging, and that has been art.

After visiting with my mom about a month or so ago, she had my future sister-in-law and me come over to watch The Art Sherpa on YouTube while we happily painted along. I have since then been hooked. Not because I’m such a great artist, but because it has been the best escape from the real world.

I’ve always been a D.I.Y. kind of person. I have several projects in the works right now. I have a sweater half knitted, some fluffy wool half spun up on a homemade drop spindle, a chapter of a book I started completed, a jean quilt in storage half patched together, and a 16 x 20 painting awaiting for some final touches.

If you can hold a paint brush and half can draw a circle and other shapes, definitely check out two of my favorite YouTube instructors, The Art Sherpa, and Painting with Jane. Both have the beginner artist in mind, and painting with acrylics is very affordable, so no stress on the budget (cause who needs that). I have been getting my paint at Hobby Lobby. They have several brands of student level acrylic paint for $5 and under.

Also, many other things in my life have been up and down. There still have been mood swings and infertility issues. Hubby and I have our up and down days, but that is another post for another time. Welcome back to PTSD + PCOS.

  1. Missed you! I’m the same way when it comes to reading, writing, and coloring. I have such strong phases that always seem to fade after awhile, and then I eventually get back to them. I’m really glad you are enjoying art. I start my last semester of college today, so back to that. đŸ˜›
